Trust asserts control over the Mosque
Statement on events of Monday 18th June 2012
Following on from the collapse of the Arbitration process, the withdrawal of the Arbiter Mr Nizar Boga, and the dismissal of Dr Suhaib Hasan on grounds of mismanagement and failure to act in the interests of the Trust, a number of strong actions were taken by the Trust to protect it's integrity and reputation in the Community.
On Monday 18th June 2012, the legitimate Trustees of the Trust changed the locks of the Mosque doors and employed security guards to protect the Mosque and its worshippers from any untoward behaviour on the part of members of the Hasan family. Hamdi Hasan, son of Dr Suhaib Hasan, had already been reported to the police for making a death threat to one of the Trustees. Further, on Monday 18th June, Mohammad Raheel tried to physically assault one of the Trustees. The police were summoned and Hamdi Hasan was arrested. CCTV footage of Raheel's actions are being retrieved and will be submitted to the police in due course. Dr Liaquat Ali, Dr Suhaib Hasan's son-in-law, also snatched a set official letters for distribution to the Madrasah parents from a Trustee as he was about to distribute them.
After three hours of aggressive confrontation from the Hasan family members, including Dr Suhaib Hasan, Mrs Shakila Hasan, Dr Liaquat Ali and Hamdi Hasan, they were finally told to leave the Mosque premises by the police. The Trust may need to enforce banning orders on some of these individuals if they continue to cause trouble at the mosque.
